
Dr M.Y Ebrahim is an ophthalmic surgeon who has established practice at the Sports Science Institute of South Africa medical suites
Dr Ebrahim completed his medical degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 2009, followed by two years as a medical intern at the New Somerset Hospital in Greenpoint, Cape Town. After completing community service at GF Jooste hospital and Khayelitsha District hospital in Cape Town, he continued working as a general practitioner as well as an emergency medicine physician. During this time he attained a Diploma in Primary Emergency Care.
Dr Ebrahim started his ophthalmic career as a medical officer at the Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe hospital in Kimberley. He completed a Diploma in Ophthalmology as well as various other exams and courses during his time in Kimberley.
He successfully completed his Fellowship of the College of Ophthalmology from the College of Medicine of South Africa as well as a Masters of Medicine in Ophthalmology from the University of the Witwatersrand
Dr Ebrahim regularly attends conferences and workshops. Among them are the Orbis International Phaco development course as well as the Thessaloniki Vitreo-Retinal Summer School in Thessaloniki, Greece. His training and experience have equipped him with a broad range of skills in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of ophthalmic pathology.
